A budding urban district

Spanning an area of 300,000 m2, the Klybeck site is being developed by planning partners Canton of Basel-Stadt, Swiss Life and Rhystadt under the banner “klybeckplus” into a green, mixed-use, climate-friendly urban district. New homes for up to 7,500 residents, 8,500 workplaces plus recreational and cultural spaces are planned for completion by 2040 on the former industrial site, while preserving its identity and character through public green and open spaces as well as cultural and educational facilities. The necessary transport links and additional public transport services will be provided to access the new urban quarter.
